Technology can be a very vital learning tool in the classroom.  Students can be engaged on educational websites to help further his or her learning.   Take a look at what I have gathered below.  If a link isn’t working or you have suggestion, comment below!  

Science & Social Studies

Brain Pop ~ Free & Paid Version

– Website: jr.brainpop.com  
– Grade Levels: 3rd – 12th
– There is a paid and free side.  My schools or districts will pay for a license if a teacher would like one.
– Description: This site has a many educational videos in a variety of subjects.  

Coding ~ Free

– Website: code.org/learn  
– Grade Levels: K-9th+
– Description: Learn how to code through fun games!  This is run by a nonprofit wanting to expose everyone to computer science and technology!

Discovery Education ~ Free

– Description: Login through your school to access resources in a variety of subjects and topics from grades kindergarten through 12th .   There are resources for the students as well as educators!

Fuel the Brain ~ Free & Paid Portions

Description: Fuel the grain has a lot of educational games (math, reading, science) as well as printables (for the classroom, not just coloring pages), teacher supports, and a place for students to create mini-books.

National Geographic ~ Free

– Description: Games, videos, and articles about animals for kids!  Could be a great resource for research projects.

San Diego Zoo ~ Free

Almanac for Kids ~ FREE

Resources about weather, moons, and animals. It also gives specific information about what is going on each day. 

NASA Kids Club ~ FREE

– Description:

Students will enjoy learning about all things NASA.  Students can find out who is on the Space Station, play an interactive science game, see space pictures, and other fun printables.

Description:

This website is full of K-8 educational interactive resources geared towards students in grades K-8.  Subject areas include games, math, language arts, history, geography, USA, science, people, and holidays.

USGS Earthquakes for Kids ~ Free

Grade Levels: 3rd – 12th

Description:

Students can learn more about earthquakes through this interactive site through lessons, facts, and projects.  If you have an earthquake unit, you will want to check this out!

Study Jame ~ Free

Smithsonian for Kids ~ FREE

– Grade Levels: Elementary

– Description:

Smithsonian is one, if not the largest set of museums (21 plus a zoo)!  This website has a lot of information and activities for students to explore.

Make Me Genius ~ Free

– Description:

Free Science Educational Website for Kids.  Lots of videos, quizzes and interesting facts for kids to enjoy.  Search by topic or grade level.

DOGO News ~ Free

– Description:

Students can read articles on topics such as current events, science, social studies, civics, world, and the environment

Exploratorium ~ FREE

– Grade Levels: All

– Description:

Based in San Francisco, the explore option allows students to look through activities, interactive exhibits, articles, and videos that are primarily science, with a little history and math thrown in.

– Description: This website has lots of games and videos that feature your favorite PBS Characters.

– Description: Quizlet is a website in which you can create your own tools for your own learning and studying.  Many have been created already, just search.

Time for Kids ~ Free

– Description: Divided by grade levels from K-6 with lots of articles for kids.

Turtle Diary ~ Free

– Description: A variety of games and activities for students k-5.  There are grade level categories as well as activity categories.  I explored the multiplication math section.  I’ll make sure to highlight more games!

Hour of Code ~ Free

– Website: code.org/learn 
– Grade Levels: K – 8th
– Description: A nonprofit website that give students an introduction to computer science coding in a fun format.  The students in my elementary school participate every year and LOVE it!

Magic Tree House ~ FREE & Paid Versions

– Description:

Students will play games or go on missions with some of your favorite characters from the books.  It will ask for a log-in or you can skip.   There is also a section for parents and teachers with more information.

WONDEROPOLIS ~ FREE

– Description: Kids love this site!!  It always has a question of the day and saves all their past questions kids can go through.  There are articles for each questions that can be read or a listening option.  

Grid Club ~ FREE

Art for Kids ~ Free

– Description:  Teachers can show videos in an animated like format in all topics and content areas.  I have found that most schools or districts will have a subscription, so something to check out.  At the elementary level, kids love BrainPop!

Duolingo ~ Free

– Website: duolingo.com
– Grade Levels: All Interest Levels
– Description: Kids or adults are able to learn a new language.  I tried the introduction to see how far my high school Spanish would take me.
